Domain name management from within TremenDesk could not be any easier. We have already shared with you how to add a domain name alias to the hosted help desk system. Here is how you would remove a domain name alias from the help desk.

To remove an existing domain alias:

Go to the Admin menu.
Go to the Site Management menu.
Go to the Domain Aliases section of the page.
Click the icon next to the domain alias entry you would like to remove.
Click the Save button.

Note: It may take up to ten minutes for our systems to process your domain name entry.

Adding a New Help Desk Domain Alias

Time to take a deeper look at how the TremenDesk hosted help desk application works with domain aliases. Today, we’ll be covering how to add a new domain alias to your help desk.

To add a new domain alias:

Go to the Admin menu.
Go to the Site Management menu.
Go to the Domain Aliases section of the page.
Enter your new domain name in an empty field.
To add even more domain aliases, click the icon.
Click the Save button.

Be sure to contact your domain registrar and point your domain’s DNS entries to the appropriate servers, or point the "A" entry to our server’s IP address. New DNS entries may require up to forty-eight hours depending on your ISP.

What Are Domain Aliases?

Domain aliases are used to point multiple domain names to the same desk. We recommend this for advanced users of the desk.

For security reasons, we require that you add additional domain entries before they can be handled by the desk. If you point your DNS entries to us but do not add the domain as an alias on your instance, you will see an error message similar to:

Note: Be cautioned that you must have at least one domain name active at all times for your desk to be accessible. Therefore, you should add a new domain before removing the old one to ensure you will still be able to add the new domain later on.
